The Akshaya Patra Foundation operates 58 kitchens across 14 States & 2 Union Territories in India. Akshaya Patra’s centralized kitchens cook between 10,000 and 250,000 meals within 6 hours.
Centralized kitchens are feasible in urban and semi-urban locations, whereas de-centralised kitchens prove to be beneficial for rural areas where connectivity poses a concern. The organization plans to open kitchens in other locations too so that it can feed more and more needy school children in India.
